Who can buy an Airsoft gun.

What are the legal requirements to buy an Airsoft Gun in the UK?

2 Tone

(At least 50% of the gun is painted in a bright non-military colour)

To purchase the above 2 Tone gun or similar, you must be over 18

RIF

(Realistic Imitation Firearm)

With the introduction in 2006 of the VCRA (Violent Crime Reduction Act), To purchase any of the above RIF’s or similar, you must be over 18 and provide proof of a current Valid Defence.

The following are examples of acceptable Valid Defences – only one is required.

Airsoft Club Membership

Re-enactor Group Membership

TV/Film/Theatre

Museum
Civil Service
